My brother is an awesome dad brother and son who has diabetes followed by kidney failure on dyalisis that he has to administer to himself 4x a day 7 days a week and unable to work. He is 61. He is being put on a list for a new kidney. He has to go to Lac La Biche every Friday on top of his dyalisis for a kidney flushing of toxins 48 km one way rain shine or blizzard. Tues he has to go to Boyle 22 km for pills once a week and groc. His vehicle 2002 is in very bad shape overall and at times I don't feel safe and in need of repair plus over 250,000 km. He is on disability pension of less than a 1000.00 a month and by no means can afford to get a new vehicle. Today as I write this he is laying in the hospital fighting a lung infection that he is suceptible to because of his low immune. Next week he is going to get 11 teeth filled and 11 pulled so his teeth are healthy for his kidney transplant once that happens. ..the following week he is in surgeory to get new tubes put into his body as he is getting a new dyalisis machine.when our dad was ill he moved in Peter moved in with my mother to help with my dad who since passed 4 yrs ago and stayed to care for my mom who now is 80 in excellent health only for his health to fail within a yr and now my mom is his care giver and goes with him to his Dr and hospital appt. He has 3 children is an awesome dad and that would be the greatest gift next to his kidneys that he could get to get him safely in bad weather to deal with his dylasis
