Deadly Brain Tumour Survivor
I'd like you to meet my dad. His name is Jeff. He has always been a hard worker and working lots just to put food on our plates at night and so that my sister and I could have the lives he wanted for us. But that all changed in 2008. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour that was cancerous. It is a very rare type of tumour that only 3-5% get diagnosed with. The doctors didn't know very much about it. They sent him to edmonton for tests and every other thing you could think of. They decided to do a combination of radiation treatment and chemotherapy. Having surgery to cut it out wasn't an option. The tumour sat almost in the middle of his brain and had a high risk of killing him to even attempt. Him and my mom went to Edmonton to start treatment that lasted weeks. When dad finally got to come home around the Christmas season, they put him on steroids to help. The steroids were terrible. He didn't look the same, act the same while taking them. He was on the verge of dying every day. We never knew what morning we were going to walk in and he had passed. He survived through all that. After years of hard times, he survived it all. He still has the tumour to this day. But he still works hard and even went back to school to finish his heavy duty mechanic red seal ticket. He still wakes up every morning and goes to work. He deserves this more than any dad I know. He cares for his family unconditionally. Always puts us first so let's put him first this time!

Xkc1968x I have known this family through out this ordeal and just so much more.Raising a family is tuff in itself let alone face this kind of traumatic thing that truly no one knows how to face is incredible .You are all so strong and I am glad that Jeff fa fa ,you are still with us.I love you all forever and always.Aunty Mitch xo
Fredula Well said Heather. I know you don't remember me, but I used to babysit you for your mom and dad. Our parents used to be very good friends. I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer almost 4 years ago. Not a day goes by that I wish he was still with us. Father's day is a tough one for me. I'm so happy that your dad is one tough SOB. He's a fighter and I'm happy to see that he gets to see you grow up. Jeff, you were one of my dad's best friends and I know that he is looking down on you smiling. XO

Barbara Jeff, you are a fighter and a survivor! I know the struggles that you and your family have gone through daily. There have been some very scary moments over the years, and I know the love and support of your family and friends has been instrumental in helping you through. Thank you Heather for sharing your Dad's story-and your family's story. Your Dad is such a hard worker, even through such difficult health struggles and he needs to be commended for that!

Izabelle I remember that when it happened we just move next door. We saw the ambulance around so many times, I was crying for them each time even if I didn't know them at all. They, all had hard time going through that story. Now that I/we know them, we really enjoy having them for neighboorg. Good luck Jeff ! :)
Vickie I have known this family for years and know the heartbreak they lived with during this time, still thoughout this time period he still worried about his family and did everything he could possibly do to make sure they were taken care of. He is a one of a kind dad and they are so lucky to have him!
Terry He went through so much and he amazes me to this day how far he's come! No one believed he would survive, the doctors gave him 1-2 years. It has now been 7 years and I am thankful everyday to have him with us!! <3
