My Rock

My Rock
this is here

My dad is the most dependable there is. I was born with a congenital heart defect and have required numerous open heart surgeries to help my heart function so I can live a relatively normal life. He has been by my side through everything. He helped me learn to eat, crawl, walk and talk. When I had my third surgery and almost didn't make it, he was there by my side; holding my hand, comforting me, talking with the doctors to figure out what to do next. When I need him, I know he will be there for me. Whether I need him to support my decision, teach me how to ride my bike, or how a car engine works, he is there to answer my questions and show me how it all works. As I am getting older my dad is teaching me how to be a proper little man. He shows me how to respect others, hold the door open for people, and to use my manners. I know that these are things that any dad would teach their children but to me it means he is dependable. I have had to go through so much in my short life with many hospital stays, doctors appointments, and blood tests. When I get scared or don't think I can be strong enough to go through yet another one, he is there to encourage me, give me strength, and hold my hand through it all. He works hard to keep his family healthy and happy. When I had to go to the ER while he was at work he left to be there by my side. He is my hero and my rock.
