Our dad rocks!!!
this is here

I am nominating my husband. He is a wonderful father to our 4 children. From the time our kids started playing sports he has been very involved. He has coached and assistant coached at least one (usually 2) hockey's teams a season. Whatever our kids show interest in, he is there guiding and instructing. Hockey, baseball, rugby, golfing, wakeboarding, fishing, riding horses, the list goes on. Among coaching, he is also a 4H leader and is on our local minor hockey board. Our arena in our small community is a staple for our community. My husband has been there to help in the construction and building of the arena, the maintenance and the many fundraisers we hold throughout the year to keep it running. He fell very ill in September 2013 with infective endocarditis and required open heart surgery. Due to complications, he had two stomach surgeries for a severe bleeding ulcer. A result of all the trauma and medications to try to rid the infection in his heart, and ultimately had to have a second open heart surgery four months after the first. He spent a total of almost three months in the hospital and was off work for eight months. Currently he is doing quite well and back to his busy self. We are so fortunate to have him!!
