My dad is the most amazing, dependable man in the world! It all started when he was younger, and his dad got sick, he stepped in to take care of his parents and siblings. He was just a young man at the time. Then he married my mom, his soul mate, and best friend. They had 5 kids together, while my dad worked very hard to make sure mom could stay home with us kids. He worked, no matter how sick, tired or hurt he was. Until he was in his late 60's. My mom got sick, and needed full time care. Dad loves trucks but mom couldn't get into a truck, so he settled for a minivan. And he retired, not to relax and take life easy, but to take care of mom. It was harder than a full time job. He never complained, he just did what he had to. Taking care of mom took everything dad had, physically, emotionally and financially. My son and I moved in to try and help dad. But my dad not only took care of mom, but he takes care of my son and I. Everyday after work, my dad has supper ready, he says that I work hard all day, so I should be able to relax. My mom lost her battle almost a year and a half ago, and my dad has been the rock for my sister and I. He has held us up, and always puts us, and our kids first. He is constantly driving his grandsons around to their various activities, friends houses, and appointments. My dad has given everything for his family, always putting himself last. He finally deserves something for him. I love you dad! You are my hero!
