In 2007, my father packed up four motorcycles and his three sons, and shipped us all off to the southernmost point of Argentina to being a trip that would take us all the way to Alaska in (unofficial) world record time. Along the way we experienced motorcycle crashes, torrential downpours that lasted weeks, corrupt government workers, and fatigue and stress that I've never felt before or since. Through it all, Dad kept us motivated and safe. He managed all of the difficult logistical operations necessary for such a trip, and stepped in to fill any role that needed filling. Looking back, I realize just how much Dad put into that trip, and how much of a bonding experience that was for the four of us. The picture attached is us just finished travelling through the Atigun Pass through the Brooks range in northern Alaska, on our way to the finish line at the end of the Pan-American highway in Dead Horse, Alaska.
