Silly time Spent with Dad
"No problem Kiddo" is a phrase I often recall hearing from my dad. He has gone above and beyond so many times, but it's the things he does on a daily basis that really showcase his affection, and determination to be the best dad he can be for my brother and myself. I recall him comforting me as I cried because my teacher no longer believed that sitting next to my best friend was a good idea in grade 4, telling me he understood and letting me know it wasn't the end of the world. As I got older he did his best to give me boy advice, and be there for me when friends were less than friendly. He regularly remembered to pick up my favourite crackers and a treat for me when grocery day came along & he would always be more than willing to spend time & just hangout - be it for dinner, or going to camp or playing hide & seek with us as kids for hours on end. I can admit that he stayed up late to pick me up after I'd had a little (or a lot) to drink more than a few times. In college, he would offer to teach himself the materials I was working on to be able to help edit/review my work. I recently moved away, and while I know it was hard for him to send off his little girl into a big city, he helped move me and send me off. He even worked an extra job to give me start up money to ensure I had all that I needed. My dad is one of my closest friends who I truly enjoy spending time with. He makes me laugh, we have insiders and I genuinely look up to him as a role model. Cheers dad, I love you
